Welcome & Hello

I’m a Canadian writer originally from the west-coast of Canada, Vancouver Island. Moving from Canada my residence is now Ibaraki Prefecture Japan, where I work as an English teacher. This site serves as an extension to my YouTube channel DaveTrippin. You’ll find writing here on such a variety of topics that I hesitate to say this site functions with one specific goal in mind. It is another medium of expression, and whatever that means, is enough for me.Β  For those not fully satisfied with the depth this site’s rabbit hole of writing provides, my novella StoneHeart is available for purchase and as well to anyone who supports me on my patreon.

I’m working on my first series of novels β€œThe Dark Mirror”.

Here’s is the completed cover for ‘Stone Heart’.

  1. Hi Charles ( or do you prefer Dave?) Thanks for following my blog! I’m glad to hear you enjoyed my recent post on the neurobiology of kindness and compassion. I thought it was some of the most interesting research I’ve heard of recently coming out of our new ability to “see” the brain in action and new knowledge about the vagus nerve.

Be well and please let me know your thoughts about future posts.

    • Absolutely I will, I find neuroscience and neuroplasticity amazing. I just finished a short while ago reading a book you might find fascinating called. “The Mind and the Brain” cheers.

  2. Thanks for the visit to my site. I hope you found something of interest. I have just given your a quick look and I like it enough that I’ve hit the follow button and I shall be returning to catch up on that which I’ve been missing, but as it is now 2 am here, it will have to wait until tomorrow. Read you then.

  3. Hi thanks for liking my post. Im quite new to blogging so any tips would be greatly appreciated. I really want to help people using my experiences and to learn from others. I believe that we all have something to offer each other. If we all tried to share more the world would be a better place.

  4. Thank you for the follow πŸ™‚
It truly means a lot that you liked Journey W1F, my motto is basically unleashing the “personal” since it’s the strongest human link among strangers πŸ™‚

    Cheers from Beirut, Lebanon!

  5. Hello there, I love to see fellow writers of longer works getting into the blog sphere. What progress have you made on the Dark Mirror novels if I may ask? Are any of them completed?

    • The outline is complete, although I add additional notes if I get some inspiration for a creative way to enrich the plot. I have written 40k words and expect each to require roughly 120k… A few more to go πŸ˜‰ To hone my skill I thought it a good idea to get out a few short stories that are bouncing around my head as well. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I’ll certainly be checking out your work.

  6. Thanks for stopping by and ‘liking’ my Christmas post. I hope you are loving your experience in Chiba. Japan is part of my territory and I enjoy every minute I am able to spend there. Good luck with your writing and I’ll be sure to follow your posts.

  7. Thank you for taking the time to read my poem The Feeling! It made me very excited! I’m also excited and looking forward to start reading your different works. Thank you again, and I’m sure we’ll be talking soon! Namaste

  8. Thank you for visiting my Enchanted Blog. I wish you well in your endeavors. Stop by often to help banish stress along the way and transform life into an enchanted journey! It sounds like you aren’t afraid of the journey! The best to you.

  9. Thank you so much for liking my post, and visiting my blog. I’m currently writing my first novel. I have French Canadian ancestry, I love Canadians πŸ˜‰
All the best to you in Japan, and on your writing journey.

  10. Thank you for reading my work. I can’t keep up on my am box as it is, but if I see you post a partial of what you’re writing for your book and ask for readers, I will be delighted to support you by reading and responding.

  11. Thanks for visiting my blog! I wish the best with writing and publishing your novels, short stories, poems and what you are working on. I wish I had better writing skills, because I have 5 books that I have wrote, but not chose to publish yet (wouldn’t want to put an editor through hell) lol …
Of all the talents and abilities I possess, literary capabilities is not one…
Eventually, I will have them published, and when I feel (after the editors attack) -they can still represent my words and message through the readers understanding.
BEING ANALYTICAL IS THE WORSTE FOR WRITING…. EVEN 1 SENTENCE! Grammatical, and all that aside, it is the WORDS that drive me crazy because of all the potential interpretations and lack of precise meaning to most of the words….
I think I just proved my point! lol
Anyway, thanks again for introducing to your blog, I look forward to reading more and possibly gain some writing skills.

  12. Thanks for stopping by our blog and liking it. Mom was in the airline industry for many years and she said she loves travel stories and photos. We kitties are not allowed out of our back yard so we just look at pictures on the puter. Purrs and paw pats. πŸ™‚
